You will understand that if you’ve taken out home security before, your provider will expect a minimum level of security; including locks on both interior and exterior doors and all ground floor windows - this is because they are the forefront of your home. Everything is scrutinised, everything comes down to what kind of locks you have within you home and one your front door. The more secure your home is, the more often premiums become cheaper.

Completely disclosing what security you have within your home (both interior and exterior) is only going to work in your favour - your provider will cover you with the right insurance so telling a little white lie, will only spite you if anything was to happen. 12% of people in 2014 withheld or guessed what locks and security systems they had in their home and 4% lied about having an alarm (research from Gocompare.com).

So enough about your home insurance let’s move onto ensuring your doors and windows are secured. Here at Elite Windows all of our products are all approved by “Secured by Design”.

Keeping your home protected against thieves is not only important for your home and family,  but for your possessions - having such protection gives you peace of mind as well.

Like the old saying goes “it’s better safe than sorry” and that is where our home security comes in. Sometimes the loopholes that we are so blind to lead us to not meet the requirements of claiming on our home insurance, it could even just be leaving a window open (only with some insurers) - and when you have been through something like a burglary, that is your only saving grace.

If you have been a victim of a burglary and your home isn’t properly secured then your home insurance may question your claim and refuse to reimburse for your claim, which is the last thing you want. However, this is where you need to question whether you have the right security measures in place so that you won’t have to deal with something like this in he future.
